About Archmant

The person behind
Archmant.

Every product, service and idea here has a story behind it. Usually it starts with something I’ve lived through, watched someone struggle with, or found myself thinking: surely we can make this easier.

Hello, I’m

Alan
Marchant.

Founder & chief bottle washer
Archmant LLC

A little context for the ideas, the products and the way we work.

A bit of background.

I spent 21 years at Nokia. Along the way I was Head of PMO in Mobile Networks, and my last role before starting Archmant was leading Services for enterprise customers in North America, particularly mission-critical private networks. That meant a remit of more than 200 customers and around 70 active projects at any one time.

What stays with me is how much depends on seeing the whole picture. A decision in one project changes things for another. A customer knows something isn’t right but can’t yet put their finger on what they need. A sensible strategy still needs someone to work out what happens on Monday morning.

You learn to pay attention, connect the dots and look ahead. You also learn that the plan has to change when the world does, without losing sight of what you were trying to achieve in the first place.

And “mission-critical” means something well beyond telecoms. Your business is critical to you. It’s your livelihood, your effort and often other people’s livelihoods too. That deserves the same care whether you run a large operation or a shop with your name above the door.

Closer to home

Every hat.
Often before lunch.

My wife, Em, runs a small business. I’ve watched her be CEO, CFO, director of coffee cups and chief bottle washer, sometimes in the space of a morning. Hence my own rather grand title above.

It’s the switching that wears you out. You’re trying to think about growing the business, then a customer needs something, there’s an invoice to sort out, and the thing you meant to improve is still waiting at the end of the day. You know there must be a better way. Finding the time to discover it is another job.

Seeing that up close is a big part of why Archmant exists. I want to help take some of that weight off, with something that fits your day and gives you room to think. That’s where these products began, too.

The ideas that grew from it

Grounded Thread

Life and work don’t politely take turns. Grounded Thread grew from wanting a companion that remembers what matters across both, helps you make sense of it and helps you act. Somewhere to pick up the thread, without having to reconstruct the whole story every time you change hats.

Growth Auditor

Growth Auditor starts with another familiar question: “I know my website could work harder for the business, but what should I fix first?” I wanted the answer to make sense to the person running the business, with clear priorities they can actually do something about.

An AI-native company

Yes, “we” means
me and the bots.

Archmant is an AI-native company. Today, the “we” you’ll see around this site is me and the bots: the AI tools and agents I work with to research, build and get things done. I bring the experience, the judgment and the responsibility for what we deliver. I’m proud to be building a company this way.

It’s also an opportunity to share the load of all those hats. Give a focused agent a useful job, the context it needs and specific permissions. Be clear about when it can act and when it needs to ask. We’ll show you how to work with that setup and adjust it as your needs change.

Contexture comes from the same experience: remembering why a decision was made, understanding what has changed, anticipating what’s needed and doing something useful with it. I wanted that continuity built into the way we work, so each step leaves us better placed for the next one.

Why I’m doing this

For the people who recognise themselves here.

I’m building things I believe should exist, for problems I’ve seen up close. They won’t be the right fit for everyone. But if you’ve read this and thought, “That sounds a lot like my day,” there’s a good chance we’ll understand each other.

I care about the difference this makes when you get back to work: something finally sorted, less to keep in your head, time to give the business or the people in your life the attention you wanted to give them. An outcome worth working towards.

Start with the outcome
